Certified Canine Rehabilitation Therapist
Dr. Toijala studied veterinary medicine at the University of Helsinki, and started veterinary work in 2002. She completed her thesis on dog rehabilitation after orthopedic surgery in 2004. Dr Toijala enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, and has special interests in surgery and working with sporting dogs. In particular, Dr. Toijala enjoys the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of canine stress-related injuries. Dr Toijala is a passionate student and has completed coursework in Europe and the U.S. in a wide range of subjects. She has completed training to become a Certified Canaine Rehabilitation Therapist through the Canine Rehabilitation Institute. Dr Toijala is currently a Practice Path Resident through the American College of Veterinary Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine under the mentorship of Drs. Sherman and Debra Canapp at Veterinary Orthopedic & Sports Medicine Group. In her spare time, Dr. Toijala enjoys sports, travelling, and competing in agility with her Border Collies.
