Surgery & Sports Medicine Intern

Dr. Stacy Godfrey was raised in central Maine. She received her Associates of Applied Science in Veterinary Technology from Vermont Technical College in 2002. She worked as Licensed Veterinary Technician in an emergency clinic until 2009 before pursuing her entrance requirements for veterinary school at St. George’s University in Grenada, West Indies. She completed her clinical year at Cornell University. She graduated from St. George’s in January 2015.  Dr. Godfrey completed a small animal rotating internship in medicine and surgery at Carolina Veterinary Specialists in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Dr. Godfrey is interested in pursuing a residency with the American College of Veterinary Surgeons and is interested in biomechanics of the knee. While at VOSM she will be performing research looking at biomechanical testing of locking TPLO plates vs. non-locking TPLO plates, and return to work/sport following lumbosacral surgery.

Dr. Godfrey’s downtime is devoted to her sixteen-year-old Jack Russell Terrier and catching up on some of her favorite authors.
