Sports Medicine & Rehabilitation

Dr. Brunke was born and raised in Queens, NY. He received his BS in Animal Science from Cornell University, and his DVM from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in St. Kitts. He did his clinical rotations at Purdue University and began practicing in Upstate New York in 2004. 


He was the first veterinarian in the Capital District (Albany, NY area) to be certified in canine rehab (CCRP through the University of Tennessee) and oversaw a rehab practice from 2007-2012. 


He is also certified in pain management and acupuncture. He incorporates these into his athletic patients, as well as his hospice/palliative care services.


Dr. Brunke believes in a big picture and practical approach to his patients. He just completed his residency requirements for the American College of Veterinary Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation, and will sit for specialty boards in January 2018.


When not at work he can be found outside training for triathlons and marathons. He finished Ironman Lake Placid in 2015 and is back in training again. 


Dr. Brunke speaks nationally and internationally on veterinary rehabilitation, sports medicine and pain management. 


Dr. Brunke is very excited to be part of the VOSM family, and is looking forward to meeting and helping new patients.


He lives in the Washington DC area with Jenny (also a veterinarian), Penny his 2 year old pit bull running buddy/ training partner, Sawyer their 4 year old Doberman and Adelaide the 2 year old Newfoundland.

Dr. Alycia Lamb graduated with dual veterinary degrees from Washington State University and Oregon State University in 2000. In 2005, she completed her CCRT (Canine Certified Rehabilitation Therapist) from The Canine Rehabilitation Institute. In the same year, Dr. Lamb opened Sunset Hill Veterinary & Rehabilitation Center. Dr. Lamb was the first veterinary rehabilitation specialist to practice in Seattle.
