VOSM will offer a one-week diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound course March 16-20, 2015 with Dr. Debra Canapp. There is one open seat for this small-group course. Interested parties should read below, and email info@vosm.com for more information. This seat will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

Dr. Debra Canapp has extensive experience and advanced training in musculoskeletal ultrasound and regenerative medicine, including stem cell therapy. She is board-certified by the American College of Veterinary Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation, and currently lectures and trains veterinarians around the globe in sports medicine, diagnostic ultrasound, and rehabilitation.

Program:

One-week Course:

  • 4 days clinical cases: diagnostic ultrasound, ultrasound rechecks, ultrasound-guided injections, regenerative medicine
  • Live dog demonstration and practice
  • Cadaver injection and dissection (if elected)
  • Surgery or rehabilitation discussion if desired

Clinical Cases - VOSM is world-renown for its quality of orthopedic and sports medicine cases. Here we will see a variety of injuries and treatments depending on the time of study. Typical cases include shoulder tendinopathies, Achilles ruptures, collateral ligament injuries, iliosoas strains, and regenerative medicine treatments.

Live Dog Anatomy Practice - Here we will use willing canine participants of different sizes to practice our knowledge of anatomy through diagnostic ultrasound of the shoulder, carpus, stifle, Achilles, and iliopsoas areas. We will discuss and work through different techniques of scanning and obtaining the best images.

Cadaver Work - Here we will work on ultrasound-guided injections and further work on diagnostic diagnostic ultrasound and anatomy dissection if requested. This will help to refine the skills learned on the live patients during clinics and help develop the skills needed to aid in ultrasound-guided injections.
